Achill holiday cottage (Saula West) sits right on the sea estuary but at the heart of the Island.
It is the ideal base to get to any point on the Island or for relaxing in and taking in the excellent views from its windows or spacious private gardens.

County Mayo is described as the most romantic of all of Ireland’s counties and it is definitely worthy of a visit either as a couple or as a family and should definately be on anyones “not to be missed” list. Achill Island is joined to the Mainland via a road bridge and is Ireland’s largest island. Set on the Wild Atlantic Way it is probably one of the most beautiful areas of western Ireland.
Achill Island boast five Blue-Flag beaches (which is nearly half of Co.Mayo’s total alone) as well as other nice beaches that are beautiful in their own right.
You can fish, surf, sail, swim, dive, ramble, horse-ride, cycle, swim , do mountain walking on properly guided routes or just stroll to the local shop and pubs all within minutes of our holiday cottage. Come home every night after a day of activities and just relax in a comfy armchair and watch the tides slowly lapping into the estuary and watch the sun set over the distant Co.Mayo mountains whilst savouring a beer from Achill Islands own brewery or perhaps a nice Irish malt whiskey.
