Saula West self-catering holiday cottage sleeps 4 comfortably and is ideal for couples & small families.
It provides the perfect retreat to relax and unwind in a beautifully located and peaceful area on the West coast of Ireland’s largest and premier holiday island.
Ideally located on the quieter eastern side of the Island, the cottage is just minutes from the picturesque villages of Dugort, Dooega, Keem and Keel with their own European awarded Blue-Flag Beaches. It also makes a super base from which to explore this beautiful part of Ireland. There are plenty of interesting places to visit and just about every activity to enjoy including horse riding, water sports, golf, cycling, fishing and great walking opportunities.
Situated on the egde of Cashel village it has good amenities such as a village store stocking essential items, a fuel station, anewly opened tea-room/cafe and a family-friendly pub, all within just a few minutes walk.

Ground floor accommodation only:
- Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, fridge-freezer, gas oven & hob, washing machine & dryer, with all utensils required for a great self-catering holiday.

- Living room with open fire, comfortable seating along with two rocking chairs, English language satellite TV, modern flat screen television.
- Bathroom with separate bath & hand-held shower, wash basin and WC.
- Master bedroom with Kingsized bed, en-suite shower and toilet.
- Additional second double bedroom with twin beds.
- Heating and Electricity included in price (summer months only).

*Turf/Coal (May to Oct) – A turf fire starter pack is included, with more available to buy localy if extra heating is required in colder months.
Bookings run Saturday – Saturday from June to September and are flexible for the rest of the year (please contact owners).
Locality
The nearby village of Achill Sound is only a few minutes drive away and has more bustling Irish pubs which also offer quality food menus. There are also several other restaurants serving very good local food, including freshly caught local seafood and Achil lisland lamb. There are also supermarkets, DIY stores, hairdressers, bakery, take-aways, chemist/pharmacy, ATM machines, butchers, and the islands tourist office. Bus and Taxi services are also available if required.
If you can not find enough things to do on the Island (doubtful) then the Island has road links to nearby Mulranny which is just 18 km away. Ballycroy National Park (30km away) is simply lovely and is well worthy of a visit. It hosts a visitor centre that has a lot of interesting information about nature and local history, with a nice café too.
The historic town of Westport (45km away) has more shopping and entertainment and is well known for it’s Westport House & Gardens, The Coffin Ship Memorial and Croagh Patrick and it’s stunning views across the 365 islands of Clew Bay.
Castlebar (50km away) offers a much wider range of shops, restaurants and bars, along with a cinema, vibrant market, The Royal Theatre & Event Centre, Mayo Memorial Peace Park and nearby, the National Museum of Ireland. We suggest that you do your full week’s shopping here, before driving to the Island, as you will find a better choice and availability (possibly cheaper too).
